A 26-year-old man is charged with renting $4,200 worth of electronics and skipping out on the payments.
Miguel Montes of Pasco pleaded innocent to theft of rental or leased property, a felony. His trial is Oct. 29.
According to court documents, Montes went to Aaron's Rental on Court Street in late 2012 and got two HP laptops, valued at $1,260 each, and a sound system worth $1,650. All of the rented items were new.
Montes made one payment, then stopped, documents said.
Registered letters were sent to his home at least three times but were returned, and contact numbers given by Montes did not work. A Pasco officer went to Montes' address on Lewis Street, and a neighbor said Montes had moved a couple of months ago and was headed to Mexico.
Montes is out of custody on his personal recognizance while awaiting trial.
