A man was arrested after a brief standoff with Richland Police Friday evening, police said.
Police were called to the Haney Inn, 2153 Stevens Drive, after reports that Thomas Bulleck, 58, went into a room there after waving a gun and drinking alcohol, according to a Richland Police news release.
Police arrived on the scene and tried to call Bulleck, but he hung up on them, police said. Police learned that Bulleck had two children, ages 9 and 10, in the room and called the SWAT team and hostage negotiators.
Bulleck came out of the room and surrendered before SWAT could arrive, police said. He was arrested for displaying a weapon capable of causing bodily harm, reckless endangerment and for obstructing a law enforcement officer.
