A Pendleton man was arrested late Monday following a three-hour standoff with authorities.
Police were called to a Pendleton apartment around 8:20 p.m. after a witness reported Ean Pierce, 26, pointed a handgun at two men, said Stuart Roberts, police chief. Pierce refused to come out of the apartment and authorities evacuated neighbors.
SWAT Team members and Pierce’s family tried to convince him over a loudspeaker to come out, but the Pendleton man stayed inside.
SWAT members approached the house around 11:30 p.m. in an armored vehicle and Pierce came outside, Roberts said. He was arrested and eventually taken to the Umatilla County jail.
Authorities searched the apartment Tuesday morning and found a loaded, stolen .357-caliber revolver inside, Roberts said. The gun matched the description of the one Pierce allegedly pointed at the two men.
Pierce is being held at the jail on a probation violation while the Umatilla District Attorney’s Office reviews the case for possible charges.
