Three inmates at the Coyote Ridge Correctional Facility were treated and released from a hospital following fights Sunday at the prison.
Movement inside the Connell prison is restricted and the Department of Corrections is investigating the incident, said Brenda Murphy, prison spokeswoman. A total of 22 offenders were placed in segregation after the fights.
Two fights between inmates broke out around 6:30 p.m. in a minimum-security unit, Murphy said. Prison staff were eventually able to break up the fights.
One inmate required stitches to the head and others were treated for minor injuries, Murphy said. No staff were injured.
