A Hermiston man was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a prepubescent girl.
Jesus Chacon, 48, pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted unlawful sexual penetration and first-degree sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 150 months or 12 1/2 years in prison.
Chacon was arrested in November after a 9-year-old girl reported he sexually abused her, according to the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office. Investigators determined Chacon committed multiple sex crimes against the child.
Chacon will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and could possibly be deported after his release.
