A woman was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center Sunday morning after being bitten by a pit bull at a Kennewick home, according to Kennewick police.
Medics arrived to find Judy Phillips going in and out of consciousness at 8 a.m. as she lay in the driveway of a house on the 8600 block of West Yellowstone Street.
She had severe bites on her arm and leg, according to a police report.
The pit bull was inside the house and another woman had locked herself and a young child inside a bedroom. Officers helped them out a bedroom window.
Benton County Animal Control and Kennewick officers then entered the house and found the pit bull in a back bedroom.
The dog is being quarantined by animal control, according to Kennewick police.
Its owner will be charged with harboring a dangerous animal, according to a police report.
Phillips was in satisfactory condition Sunday afternoon, according to information from the Richland hospital.
