A Mesa man was arrested after he allegedly forced his way into a Kennewick Subway shop and assaulted a woman who was the victim in a domestic violence case.
The 44-year-old Richland woman was preparing to open the Subway shop Sunday around 8:44 a.m. when Zackary Thomas Bailie knocked on the back door.
The woman, who was expecting a co-worker, opened the door, but tried to close it when she saw Bailie, 34, according to police.
Bailie forced his way into the restaurant, where he reportedly started arguing with the woman about an upcoming court date, according to police. He allegedly told her to not show up for court.
Bailie reportedly assaulted the woman, then fled after she got to a phone and call 911.
Police found Bailie at a nearby business. He was booked into Benton County jail in connection with burglary, assault and tampering with a witness on an open case.
