One stop by Richland Police led to four arrests Thursday.
Transients Brittany N. Nave, 25, and Tanthilantis R. Mielke, 24, were arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine, police said. Police said their arrest led to the arrests of Robert A. Pyke, 42, of Kennewick, and Bellamy M. Bertram, 29, of Richland, both for meth possession. Pyke was also arrested on Kennewick Police warrants for domestic violence and a probation violation.
An officer noticed a 2014 Dodge Challenger was parked in the parking lot at Motel 6, 1751 Fowler St., in a way that led him to believe someone pulled into the parking lot and left very quickly, police said. The officer ran a check on the car’s plates, which showed that the car had been stolen in Kennewick.
Police watched the car after motel staff said they didn’t know about the car. Police said they stopped Nave and Mielke when they got in the car and began to start it.Both admitted they knew the car was stolen when police were interviewing them, police said. The meth and hypodermic needles were turned up after police got a search warrant and found them in the car, police said. Police said Nave and Mielke admitted owning the drugs and paraphernalia.
Never miss a local story.
One of the suspects mentioned Pyke was in a room during the arrest, police Capt. Mike Cobb said. Bertram answered the door after police knocked and Pyke was sitting on a bed, police said. Pyke was arrested after he stood up and dropped two plastic bags of meth that had been in his pocket, police said.
Officers found more meth and a kit with needles, spoons and bags with a small amount of heroin inside after serving a warrant, police said. They also found a scraper and a digital scale, police said.
Bertram was arrested after being linked to the drugs, police said. All were booked into the Benton County jail without further incident.
