A fire burned the porch of a two-story house early Wednesday morning in Pasco, forcing residents to evacuate.
The residents were able to get out safely, according to the Pasco Fire Department. No injuries were reported.
The fire was reported at 2:36 a.m. at 4311 Artesia Drive, said Battalion Chief Dave Hare. When crews got on scene the porch was engulfed by flames.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the porch area, Hare said. The flames were put out less than a half-hour after crews arrived.
There was significant damage to the porch and some damage to the outside of the house, Hare said.
Fire officials are investigating what caused the fire.
Crews from Pasco, Kennewick and Franklin Fire District 3 responded to the fire, Hare said. There were around 25 firefighters and five fire trucks.
The fire displaced the residents, though they found another place to stay, Hare said.
