A 6-year-old Hermiston boy crashed a motorcycle as police chased him and his father through a neighborhood, said Hermiston Police Chief Jason Edmiston Thursday.
The boy and his father, Gregory A. White, 28, were riding motorcycles around train tracks in Hermiston Tuesday afternoon when an officer tried to stop them, Edmiston said. The pair fled immediately.
The boy crashed a short distance away in his driveway and White continued to flee from officers, Edmiston said. White eventually got away during the chase.
Other than being frightened by the incident, the boy didn't have any serious injuries, Edmiston said.

The boy was taken into protective custody before being released to his mother, Edmiston said. Officers have spoken to White on the phone, but he is refusing to turn himself in.
The Hermiston Police Department is asking anyone with information on White’s whereabouts to contact them at 541-567-5519.
