Walla Walla police recently arrested a suspect in a rash of commercial burglaries.
Over $3,500 worth of cash and other items has been stolen from at least eight businesses in the Walla Walla area since July, said Tim Bennett, Walla Walla police spokesman. The businesses also had an estimated $2,200 in damages.
Dakota M. Hopkins, 23, was arrested last Saturday as he was allegedly trespassing at a house on Boyer Avenue, Bennett said. Police found evidence linking Hopkins to the burglaries.
Hopkins was booked into the Walla Walla County jail. His bail was set Tuesday at $60,000.
