Richland police arrested a Kennewick man and woman for allegedly selling stolen DVD’s to Hastings in Richland.
Since May 6, police have been investigating hundreds of stolen DVD’s that were being brought into the store.
Police identified Jaime K. Manis, 31, as a suspect early on in the investigation, Capt. Mike Cobb said. Manis had sold 137 DVD’s to the store since January.
Manis and Richard C. Crouchet, 28, came into the store on May 24 and were arrested by police.
Officers found a “large volume” of plastic wrappers from DVD’s in their car after searching it, Cobb said.
Police contacted Wal-Mart, which reviewed video that showed both suspects allegedly stealing DVD’s, Cobb said.
Both suspects were booked into the Benton County jail.
A 72 hour hold has been placed on them while Benton County prosecutors decide whether to file charges.
