Richland police on Wednesday arrested Jon J. King, 34, of Richland, in connection with a rash of burglaries in the Meadow Springs neighborhood in south Richland.
King was arrested after police received a call at 10 p.m. about a man inside a home in the 300 block of Quailwood Place while the residents were there. King reportedly was spotted on the porch and inside the kitchen with a flashlight.
Police blocked off the house and arrested King when he came outside. He reportedly fought with officers during the arrest.
Police searched the home and found an elderly woman inside. She told police she had not seen anyone in the house and had not given permission for anyone to be there.

The Quailwood Place report followed quickly on the heels of a report in the 200 block of Gage Boulevard in which a woman called police to say a man was in her house and had tried to enter her bedroom. The man fled when she screamed.
Police said the Gage Boulevard report fit a pattern of burglaries in Meadow Springs since May 2012. They added that King was wearing a pair of Nike shoes when arrested that have a very distinct sole pattern that matched shoe prints from other burglaries in the area.
King allegedly possessed property from three residences at the time of his arrest, including a bottle of alcohol, silver coins, a backpack, hospital ID, leather notebook and cash.
He was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of residential burglary and resisting arrest.
