An alert citizen helped police catch a 21-year-old Kennewick man who was reportedly prowling through cars in a Kennewick neighborhood.
The witness called police about 6:40 a.m. Monday when he saw two men looking in cars and opening doors on the 1900 block of West Fifth Avenue, said Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin.
Officers arrested Christopher E. Hooper but a second suspect ran away and was not caught.
Police do not believe any items were taken.
Hooper was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of vehicle prowling.
