SUNNYSIDE -- Police in Sunnyside are investigating a shooting that happened shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday. The incident took place at South Sixth Street and Lincoln Avenue when the victim stopped his vehicle at the intersection, police said.
Witnesses said another vehicle pulled up next to him, the two men conversed and someone in the second vehicle fired shots at the victim, police reported.
The victim, a 21-year-old male, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a Yakima Valley hospital and then transferred to Harbor View Medical Center in Seattle.
Officers said they believe the shooting to be gang related. No arrests have been made.
