Four Hermiston residents are in the Benton County jail after being caught breaking into cars in Kennewick, police said.
At 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the area of South Sharron Street and West Ninth Avenue after getting calls about several people prowling cars, said Kennewick police Officer Aaron Hamel.
Officers found three men and a woman in the area with car prowling equipment, Hamel said.
After witnesses identified the suspects, Julian Zapien, 18, Marcella Lopez, 18, Steves Aga, 18, and Robert Larson, 20, were jailed on suspicion of vehicle prowling.

Zapien also was arrested for criminal trespassing. Lopez also was booked for possessing marijuana and Larson had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
