HERMISTON -- Hermiston police found two pounds of marijuana in a car after stopping a Hermiston man early Saturday on suspicion of drunken driving, authorities said.
Officers conducted a special DUI enforcement over the Memorial Day weekend and arrested two drivers for DUI, cited two minors for possessing alcohol and issued a citation for an open container, said Chief Jason Edmiston.
But, a 2:20 a.m. Saturday traffic stop is what led officers to the marijuana arrest.
Carlos J. Orozco, 38, was stopped while driving a white Toyota 4-Runner and arrested for DUI. Officers then discovered the marijuana, along with cash and packaging material inside the SUV, Edmiston said.
Orozco was arrested and booked into the Umatilla County jail on suspicion of unlawful manufacturing of marijuana, unlawful delivery of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and DUI.
