KENNEWICK -- A Kennewick woman pleaded innocent to allegations that she altered a prescription for pain medication to increase the dosage of each pill.
Corey Lynn Rumsey, 33, faces trial Aug. 6 for one count of obtaining a controlled substance through misrepresentation.
According to court documents, Rumsey handed over the prescription for hydrocodone to a Kennewick pharmacy on March 16, 2010. The form for 60 pills had been altered so the 5mg order now showed 10mg per each pill, documents said.
The case originally was filed in Benton County District Court, but a $600 warrant was issued for Rumsey's arrest after she failed to make a court hearing April 30, 2011.
Never miss a local story.
Prosecutors bumped the case up to Superior Court last August, but she didn't appear in court to answer to the new charge until law enforcement tracked her down recently.
