A Kennewick woman died after being hit by a car as she tried to cross Interstate 84 near Stanfield, according to the Oregon State Police.
Rosialy Carmia Tiffany, 49, had left her vehicle for unknown reasons before being hit as she crossed the fast lane on foot, according to police reports.
She was hit by a Volvo station wagon driven by James Braxton Creel, 41, of Portland, at about 5 a.m. Tuesday, according to police reports. Creel was not injured.
Alcohol use by Tiffany, who died at the scene, is being considered as a contributing factor.
Traffic was routed off the interstate and through the town of Echo until about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday as the state police investigated.
