An 86-year-old woman woke up to the sound of a man kicking in the front door of her Kennewick home on Saturday.
Kennewick police arrived at an apartment on the 1100 block of West 10th Avenue to find Jacob Staley, 33, of Burbank, as he was leaving the woman’s home, said Sgt. Randy Maynard. The woman said Staley was hiding in the entryway after breaking in.
He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
Police said he was high on methamphetamine and claimed he was being chased and needed a place to hide.
