A Walla Walla man reportedly had driven just a mile in a stolen pickup and trailer when Richland police caught up with him.
Kristopher Kester, 37, is accused of stealing the truck from a construction site in the 900 block of Aaron Drive at 1:41 p.m., said Capt. Mike Cobb.
Officers spotted Kester driving the pickup near George Washington Way and Lee Boulevard.
He stopped the pickup and ran but was caught and arrested on suspicion of auto theft, driving while his license is suspended, driving without an interlock device and possession of stolen property.
Also, a red Adidas bag was reportedly found in the pickup. It was stolen from a car parked at 3 Margaritas restaurant on Jadwin Avenue, said police.
