Nine people are needed by the Kennewick police to be officers.
The full-time positions are for entry-level police officers, who are 21 or older and a U.S. citizen.
Kennewick police are asking people to apply for testing taking place on Dec. 1. People passing a physical agility test can take a written test the same day, said Sgt. Ken Lattin.
“You can apply for the test until (the positions) are full,” he said.

Applicants can also use the National Testing Network. The company conducts the testing for Kennewick and hold police testing at various locations.
A week later the police department is holding an open house to continue recruitment by offering more information about being a police officer. The doors open at 8 p.m. on Dec. 8.
Four more positions are going to open in January due to funding from the criminal justice sales tax, said Lattin. He said additional positions are opening in 2017 as two officers announced their retirement.
