A Warden man was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on Tuesday after pleading guilty to producing child pornography and being a felon in possession of a gun.
Alfredo Mendoza, 34, was under investigation in November 2015 for a series of gang-related drive-by shootings in Grant County, when his house was searched. A 9 mm revolver and a cellphone with child pornography were found, according to the Department of Justice.
Further investigation found that Mendoza had directed an underage girl to take pornographic photos of herself and text them to Mendoza.
He also created videos of sexual acts with the girl, some of them made in his bedroom, according to court information from the investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Mendoza will be required to register as a sex offender. His sentence was handed down by U.S. Judge Salvador Mendoza Jr. in Spokane.
