The National Weather Service has upgraded its fire weather watch for the Mid-Columbia on Aug. 27 to a red flag warning.
A cold front is sweeping across northern Washington that will cause winds to increase across the Mid-Columbia.
Vegetation is critically dry. A combination of gusty winds and low humidity will create dangerous fire weather conditions, according to the weather service.
The red flag warning is in effect from 1 to 9 p.m. Aug. 27.
