An incoming senior at Richland High School was crowned queen in the 2016 Miss Juneteenth scholarship pageant.
Tasia Monae Allen took home the title during the pageant held June 25 in Pasco.
She’s the daughter of Lavina Davis and Johnnie Allen of Richland.
Tasia loves cooking and upper-level math classes. She takes part in the school initiative AVID, is a Washington State University Gear-Up ambassador, is part of Buddy Club and has volunteered for the Red Cross. She is looking to enlist in the Air Force in the summer of 2017.

Other girls also took home honors. Allicia Chalmers was crowned first princess, Princess Kannah was chosen as second princess and Alyssia Corbray Deery was crowned third princess.
Corbray Deery also took home the academic achievement award.
Divyn Clash won Miss Congeniality and best talent, and Tiara Villegas took home the hostess award.
