Bring the family to George Prout Pool at 3 p.m. June 24 to participate in “The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson” to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim and help prevent drowning.
Lifeguards will be on hand to teach the Starfish Swim Lesson curriculum. Columbia Basin Dive Rescue will also have staff in attendance.
The city of Richland will host participants at the pool at 1005 Swift Blvd., and join water parks, pools and other aquatic facilities around the globe to bring awareness that swimming lessons save lives.
This event is free and open to all ages.
