Kiona-Benton City Elementary School has brought on an additional principal to oversee the school’s youngest students next school year.
Linda Hardy will be the primary school principal for the school’s roughly 400 preschool through second-grade students, a release said. Current principal Bernardo Castillo will become the intermediate school principal for third- through fifth-grade students.
District officials said the change is intended to better meet the needs of students and provide parents easier access to an administrator.
Hardy, who served as an elementary school principal in the Kennewick School District for 19 years, studied elementary education and speech pathology at Washington State University, holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Central Washington University and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from WSU.
