PASCO -- The speed limit on Oregon Avenue in Pasco will drop next week.
Crews will install new 40 mph signs, reducing the speed limit from the current 45 mph. The change was approved by the city council and the state Department of Transportation.
The speed limit reduction is a recommendation of the city's Oregon Avenue Corridor Study, which was designed to improve traffic and safety in the area. Other planned changes include widening the street from four to five lanes, including a center turn lane.
