RICHLAND -- Joseph Iannelli, an engineer with more than 20 years in higher education, has joined the leadership team at Washington State University Tri-Cities.
Iannelli will be executive director of engineering and computer science at the Richland campus as well as a CH2M Hill fellow, according to a news release.
He was most recently a professor and director of the School of Engineering at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He's also held positions at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania and City University in London.
He holds a combined bachelor's and master's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Palermo in Italy and a diploma in fluid dynamics from the Von Karman Institute in Belgium.

Iannelli earned his doctorate in engineering science, with a focus on aerospace engineering and computational fluid dynamics, from the University of Tennessee, where he also was tenured faculty.
