Two Tri-Citians were injured early Sunday after the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier they were in went off of Interstate 82 near Highway 395 in Kennewick.
The car driven by Kayla M. Cornog, 26, of Richland, went off the roadway, rolled and then came to rest in the median at 4:25 a.m., according to Washington State Patrol.
The cause was defective equipment, according to officials.
Cornog and her passenger Mindy M. Salcedo, 25, of Kennewick, were both wearing seat belts. They were transported to Trios Medical Center in Kennewick, where they were both treated and released.
