The public may comment on the Corps of Engineers plan to plant native species on federal land and leased adjacent land along the lower Snake River to create or enhance wildlife habitat.
The planting could be done in Franklin, Columbia, Walla Walla, Garfield, Whitman and Asotin counties. About 25,000 acres of Corps land and 24,000 acres of purchased or leased land could be planted.
