Events start today to celebrate the journey of Lewis and Clark.
Much of the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation's annual meeting is for registrants only, but a reenactment of an encampment takes place this weekend at Sacajawea State Park in Pasco.
The encampment is open to the public 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday.
More than 130 people from across the country are expected to attend, said Rennie Kubik, an organizer of the event.
The group works to preserve the trail the Lewis and Clark expedition took from 1804-06 between St. Louis and the Pacific Coast.
The group meets each year in a city along the route.
