Franklin County Fire District 3 reports a 10-minute approved agricultural burn coming up at Road 100 and Dent Road. A farmer is burning a small strip of stubble left over from a fire Wednesday.
The state Department of Ecology has issued 13 permits for agricultural burns in Franklin County. The burns are exempted from Gov. Jay Inslee's burn ban for Eastern Washington, Ecology spokeswoman Brook Beeler said. A total of 1,000 acres may be burned.
"When they get a permit, they have a large window of when that can happen," she said.
The local fire district must give final approval on the day of the fire before it can proceed, Beeler said.
