The Tri-Cities broke a heat record Tuesday and is under a heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Weather officials said temperatures reached 106 degrees Fahrenheit at the Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco on Tuesday.
The high today should be about 102 degrees and the low should be about 68 degrees.
Normal highs for August in the Tri-Cities are just above 90 degrees and normal lows are 62 degrees.
The high could hit the triple digits again Thursday, before some slight cooling and a small chance of thunderstorms Friday.
The weekend also should be hot with highs at or just below 100 degrees.
