The Amateur Softball Association Girls Fastpitch 14 and under Western National Championship set for July 29 to Aug. 2 in Pasco and Richland is expected to draw 1,120 players, coaches and spectators.
The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau said the tournament will generate an estimated $554,400 in visitor spending.
Games will be split between the TRAC Softball Complex on Home Run Road in Pasco and Columbia Playfield Softball Complex on Swift Boulevard in Richland.
Pre-ordered tournament passes are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Preordered youth and senior tournament passes are $15 or $20 at the gate. Day passes are $7 for regular admission and $5 for youth and seniors. Children under 5 are free.
"We are honored to host the top teams from throughout the western United States," said Kris Watkins, president and CEO of the visitor bureau. "The Western National Championship will introduce many first-time visitors to the Tri-Cities and encourage repeat visitation and increased visitor spending."
Tournament play begins Tuesday, while the finals are set for Aug. 2. A complete schedule of games can be found at www.wasadistrict3.com.
