An Oregon Department of Transportation worker who was killed Tuesday was run over by a dump truck, officials said.
Donald Kendall, 54, was struck while working on an ODOT maintenance crew around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 320 near Echo, Oregon State Patrol Lt. Mike Turner said in a news release.
Turner said Kendall, a 29-year ODOT employee, was standing behind an ODOT dump truck, when the truck began to slowly back up, struck Kendall and ran over him.
Other ODOT workers tried numerous lifesaving measures with Kendall to try to assist him until emergency responders arrived, Turner said.
Additional interviews are pending, Turner said.
