Three inmates at the Coyote Ridge Correctional Facility were treated and later released from a hospital following fights Sunday at the prison.
Movement inside the Connell prison was restricted Monday and the Department of Corrections is investigating the incident, said Brenda Murphy, prison spokeswoman. Twenty-two offenders were placed in segregation after the fights.
Two fights broke out around 6:30 p.m. in a minimum-security unit, Murphy said. Prison staff were eventually able to break them up.
One inmate required stitches to his head and others were treated for minor injuries, Murphy said. No staff were hurt.
