Five people were injured in a two-car collision Wednesday afternoon on Highway 224 three miles from West Richland, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Rebecca E. Meincke, 31, of Ritzville, was driving north on Keene Road when her 2005 Nissan Altima failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2008 Ford pickup driven by Bruce C. Emory, 56, of Benton City, the state patrol said.
Emory was driving west on Highway 224, the state patrol said.
Meincke was injured and treated at the scene and Emory was not injured.
Meincke's three passengers were taken by ambulance to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with unknown injuries, the state patrol said. They were Desirae N. Cross, 23, of Kennewick, Justin A. Olson, 31, of Washtucna, and David J. Kofoed, 29, of Kennewick. Cross was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with unknown injuries.
The crash remains under investigation but Meincke could face charges, the state patrol said.
