KENNEWICK -- A high-level sex offender convicted of child rape is living in Kennewick, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
Steven Michael Baird, 31, notified the sheriff's office he is living on the 700 block of South Bermuda Road.
He was convicted of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes in 2002 and third-degree rape of a child in 2006.
Baird also failed to register as a sex offender in Benton County earlier this month, the sheriff's office said.
Baird is classified as a Level 3 sex offender, meaning he is considered a high risk to reoffend. He is under Department of Corrections' supervision but is not wanted for any new offenses.
A man who recently failed to register as a sex offender also has notified officials he is living in Kennewick, according to the Benton County Sheriff's Office.
Michael Sterling Patterson, 40, is now living on the 1700 block of 45th Avenue, the sheriff's office said.
He was convicted of three counts of third-degree child rape in 2002 and failed to register with Franklin County officials earlier this month.
Patterson is classified as a Level 3 sex offender and has a high risk to reoffend. He is under supervision by the Department of Corrections.

A sex offender meeting is held the second Wednesday of each month at the Kennewick Police Department. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. and officials provide information about Benton County sex offenders.
