Two people were injured in a four-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 395 and 10th Avenue in Kennewick late Sunday morning.
Brianna Johnson, 18, of Cove, Ore., was eastbound on 10th Avenue in a Mercury Mountaineer with passenger Francisco Hernandez, 20, also of Cove, Ore., when she approached the intersection with the highway, said a release from Washington State Patrol.
When Johnson attempted to make a left turn into the northbound lanes of the highway, she was struck by a Ford Focus driven by Sara Noland, 22, of Hinesville, Ga., headed west on 10th Avenue.
The crash sent the Mountaineer into a Saturn L200 driven by Yolanda Carroll, 71, of Kennewick and a Toyota Camry driven by Ricky Romine, 63, of Pasco who were stopped in the southbound lanes of the highway.
Johnson and Hernandez were injured and taken to Trios Health where they were treated and released. The Mountaineer and Focus were towed from the scene while the other two vehicles were driven away.
State patrol officials said Johnson caused the crash by failing to yield right of way and charges are pending.
