Henningsen Cold Storage in Richland recently was recognized by the state Department of Labor & Industries for its safety and health program.
It is one of six Washington companies to receive this award as part of the "Safety Through Achieving Recognition Together" program, also called START.
The program recognizes businesses with strong safety records that have shown a commitment to health and safety at work.
"We could not have achieved this award without the help and mentoring we got from L&I staff, as well as the hard work and dedication of our employees," Bill Friend, Henningsen warehouse manager, said in a statement.
Henningsen Cold Storage has 28 employees in Richland. It has almost 5 million cubic feet of temperature-controlled storage and is one of the largest public refrigerated warehouse companies in the U.S.
