KENNEWICK -- Three Southridge High School students took top honors in a recent annual drafting competition.
Remy Plate, Nathan Erickson and Trenton Nett came in first, second and third in the 2014 AutoCAD Drafting Competition organized by the National Association of Women in Construction, a news release said. They also earned cash prizes of $250 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place.
Eleven Tri-City students submitted projects to the competition, a jump in participation compared with past years, said Melissa Slater, chairwoman for the association's Tri-Cities chapter.
The three winners are in the CAD drafting class taught by Ryan Helms at Southridge. The students began working on their project in October.
Remy competed in the Pacific Northwest Regional Competition on April 19.
