A 5-year-old boy who wasn't properly restrained was injured Sunday afternoon when a sedan made a left turn in the path of his car on Highway 730.
Abdiel E. Hernandez, of Hermiston, was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco for treatment following the 3:55 p.m. crash.
A Washington State Patrol news release said the boy, who was a passenger in a 2001 Acura 3.2TL, had a lap and shoulder belt on but was not in a proper child seat.
According to the report, Anita Castrejon was eastbound in a 2013 Nissan Sentra behind a semi when she made a left turn in front of the westbound Acura.
The Acura then hit Castrejon’s Nissan on 730, 29 miles west of Walla Walla.
Troopers said Castrejon was at fault for failing to yield the right of way.
Both Castrejon, 23, of Pasco, and the Acura driver, Gino Cuneo, 66, of Walla, were not injured.
