Tri-City residents may wake up to snow on the ground Friday morning.
The National Weather Service is predicting a 70 percent chance of snow Thursday night with an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible in the Tri-Cities.
Some light snow had begun to fall Thursday afternoon.
A series of storms is moving across the region over the next few days, with the initial storm coming through Thursday and Thursday night.
Another storm is expected Friday or Saturday.
The chance of snow Friday is 20 percent and the chance of snow, rain or a mix of freezing rain Saturday is 30 percent, according to the weather service.
Temperatures will remain below normal, with lows in the teens likely through Saturday night.
Highs should be in the 20s, until they climb above freezing Monday.
