A west Pasco woman is getting international attention for an idea she had to get more sleep.
The handwritten note Samantha Manville left her kids has been featured on the Today show and Good Morning America, as well as websites across the United States and elsewhere.
Manville tells her children, Alexia, 10, and Liam, 8, that she and their father would like to sleep in until 10 a.m., unless there is a “real emergency,” written in fiery and bloody letters for effect. She gives them instructions like letting them know that they can eat cereal, but can’t go to their friends house.
Manville told ABC News that the couple doesn’t normally stay up late, but had been up until 2 a.m. on the night of Jan. 17. The note worked, and they were able to sleep until 10:06. But she doesn’t expect to be able to work all the time.
The story on ABC’s website had received 19,000 Facebook “likes” as of Friday morning, while 3,021 people had shared the story.
