Pasco High School's boys basketball coach remains on leave from coaching duties as district administrators investigate his alleged behavior at a Jan. 13 practice.
Charlie Villanueva continues to work full time as a health and fitness teacher at the high school.
District officials declined to talk Wednesday about what led to Villanueva's leave of absence from the team. Superintendent Saundra Hill said administrators are still looking into the situation and that a personnel hearing could happen as early as next week.
Villanueva was absent from Pasco's games Jan. 18 and Tuesday. Former Bulldogs coach Mike Guajardo, who led the team for 19 years before stepping down in 2000, has taken on coaching duties for the team in the interim.
Never miss a local story.
Villanueva was one of Guajardo's assistant coaches and also served under Chiawana High School boys basketball coach Chad Herron. Villanueva has led the Bulldogs since 2010.
