Franklin County prosecutors charged Guadalupe Montejano with first-degree murder for allegedly killing a 46-year-old Pasco woman last week.
Montejano, 48, is accused of killing Tamie A. Clark-Acevedo, who was reportedly staying at his apartment in the Vecinos Business Complex in Pasco.
Clark-Acevedo's body was found -- battered and cut -- covered in a sleeping bag in Montejano's closet, according to court documents. Prosecutors said Clark-Acevedo's throat was cut with a sharp object.
Montejano was arrested at the apartment complex. Neighbors say they heard screams coming from his apartment.
Montejano is being held in the Franklin County jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to be back in court next week.
