Washington State STEM Education Foundation and Junior Achievement of Southeastern Washington have new directors.
Deb Bowen has been named executive director of the state STEM Education Foundation and Susan Fillafer has been promoted to serve as the regional director of JA Southeastern Washington.
Bowen previously served 17 years as the executive director of Junior Achievement, where she directed efforts to raise more than $6 million for education-related initiatives, funding programs serving 100,000 area young people, a news release said.
Bowen guided 2,500 volunteers and donors, a 50-person board of directors and advisers and 11 staff members, the release said.

Fillafer previously held the title of marketing & development manager for JA. She was selected in part because of her exceptional leadership, business management, and networking abilities, according to a news release.
She has overseen some of the biggest and most successful JA fundraising events per capita in the country and holds an extensive business management background, the release said.
