A Prosser car dealership has donated $20,000 to the Historic Downtown Prosser Association for the third year.
The money from Tom Denchel's Ford Country will be used to help downtown businesses restore their facades to fit a '40s to '50s style, said Dan Smith, the association's executive director.
The dealership has given money to the association to help strengthen downtown, Smith said. Past donations also have gone toward installing park benches, trash cans and hanging planters to beautify the downtown streets.
The association will use the donation to provide businesses matching grants of $5,000 to perform facade restoration. Such projects can cost $10,000 to $40,000, Smith said.
"It can't do much, but it's a little bit to help them do the work," he said.
