A Prosser High School student will compete next month against 23 other Washington students for the opportunity to win a $30,000 scholarship from Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Joslyn Felicijan, a sophomore, recently won first place for VFW Prosser Post #3207 and Prosser Ladies Auxiliary at districts for her for her entry in the organization's Voice of Democracy program, a release said.
The program asks high school students to express their thoughts on democratic ideas and principles by writing and recording a broadcast script on a given theme.
Joslyn has already received some scholarship money from her early wins as well as a trophy.
Her parents are Pete and Connie Felicijan.
